Wiring close to being ready to fire up.

OK had a late night of it. Jolly good and so on and so forth and hello.

I have wired up the EZ-B and the Sabertooth 2x25.

This picture shows how i laid it all out

This picture illustrates how I wired a signal coming off the EZ-B into the sabertooth microcontroller, and the soldered splice grounding the small battery to the big battery

This last one shows exactly how the ground wire is being routed. I hope it is correct. We will find out tomorow when I build a little wheel lift to get it off the floor and turn it on.

Sleep beep *yawn*

I.M.A.G. progress

Hello So here is the new I.M.A.G.
To tell you the truth I started out this project wanting to build an ampdroid but after building and designing and learning and thunking, I figured the thing I need most at a show or an outing, is someone that can hold all my crap.

Basically like a rolling locker with internet. At that point it can just tow a little cart with not just my amplifier in it but perhaps groceries or even me if I am too drunk to walk, which is every minute of every day just kidding.

What do I want rolling along with me in my personal droid? Seriously?

A towel.

No joke, even though i love douglas adams, I always need a towel after i get out of the monster uniform. How about some snacks, some drinks, A lighter, keys, phone, cards, dog bones, water, family jewels, a pencil, some tools, beer, believe me im sure every nook and cranny will be filled with crapola by the end of the first week

So here is what i got so far. I want to of course replace the frame with a custom welded frame but I dont have a metal shop yet.

A robot this size has to be cylindrical-ish. Anyone who denies this should go put a bunch of honey and liquid nitrogen in their pants and PM me in the morning. Just kidding. I don't recomend that. The rest of us will continue.

I am enclosed the EZ-B and the sabertooth 2x25 inside the grey plastic electrical box from home depot. I roughed out a quick frame for testing purposes out of some home depot strut.

Someone said it isnt a robot unless its 4 feet tall. I dont know how tall this one is yet but I agree. A robot should be kinda big. And it should also be able to carry all your crap and tow some other heavier stuff too sometimes... Light your path up if its dark.

You should be able to walk your dog and the droid to the store. When you get there, hook your dog up to a little hook on the droid. When you come out with your groceries, put them inside your droid and walk home..... Relaxing!

Beep it up y'all!

Pigbot is dead. Long live I.M.A.G. ONE

Hello everybody. Well I got some new tools last night, learned how to use them, and worked fiendishly for hours. Finally my bellybutton had no lint in it, and i could start working on robotics!! Pigbot was looking very sorry to me last night, and although I wanted to familiarize myself further with joystick-controlling his actions, I had to go and build a better chassis, just for testing purposes.
First of all, I wanted a super-solid mount for the two-servo camera assembly. I went to the "toys are us" and got this metal tinker-toy looking set. It has tons of brackets and allen wrench screws and lock nuts, and is basically awesome. I asked for kinex or something. You'll find 'em.

I found a twenty dollar stupid candy dispensing machine at walgreens and gutted it to make the new chassis. The EZ-B is displayed proudly in the clear abdomen. I will install a fan in there don't worry your processors about that! Put the new camera mount on top and! realize that my continuous servos won't be able to move this thing! So, I just put them on the sides for testing purposes.

I did a animation about robots a while ago and I came up with this name I.M.A.G.
As in "I am a G"
as in " hello, I am an original gangster, hailing from Oakland." anyway that is the name for the new prototype

Alrighty then beep out y'all!

Pigbot the meagre

That was a fun session. I got all the EZ robot pieces working with the laptop and peripherals like the bluetooth, xbox controller and camera
Yes I made a test bot out of a kleenex box with a pig on it.

If I only had a brain....

Ampdroid has aquired some new brain components. And some other cool stuff
A) A kleenex box from target that is adorned with a pig image.

B) wireless to USB dongle camera, for telepresence and teleoperating Ampdroid

C) ASUS netbook will run EZ builder onboard Ampdroid.

D) EZ-B circuit board from EZ Robot!

E) Xbox PC wireless controller

F) Sabertooth 2X25 motor controller

PROGRESS REPORT
The EZ B is firmware updated and running off of the laptop. I like the laptop, it has no cd player and seems to be pretty solid-state. It runs windows 8 32 bit which I am getting used to

Its time to put things together and see if they work. I am still trying to figure out how to rewire my pronto M51 powerchair base to the sabertooth 2x25. There is a charger there that I dont know what to do with. For now I am going to make a kleenex boxbot as recommended by EZ robot creator DJ Sures to test all the components.

Thank you for observing the progress of Ampdroid
Beep out ya'll

Hello This is me with my first blog ever, I am documenting the creation of an amplifier carrying robot for use with my band. I am on EZ-robot robotics forum so there is specific texts on some of these photos that may not concern everyone. Or interest anyone ha ha. thats the one with all the text. This is the base of a powerchair. Here are some more pics Allright see ya later
